Bridge 6 Locks

The Bridge 6 Major Rehabilitation project is located on the Welland Canal in St. Catherines, Ontario. The project consists of performing major rehabilitation of existing moveable bridges (east and west) and involves fixed jack spanning. Rehabilitation work will also be carried out on the fixed west approach spans. Construction is taking place during navigation and non-navigation seasons.

In addition to the bridge restoration, critical mechanical installations will be performed in the machinery house. Other work includes counterweight resurfacing, track and tread plate replacement, sandblasting and recoating of all bridge components, and electrical upgrades.

This challenging project involves multiple stakeholders and agencies. To safely and successfully complete the work, Kenaidan is collaborating with St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation and CN Rail; work also complies with Transport Canada Marine Transport Security Regulations.
