A recognized leader in the industry, Kenaidan provides general contracting, design build, construction management and preconstruction services to all sectors of the business world.
Founded in 1974 by Ken Smith (Left) and Aidan Flatley (Right) while attending university, work in the early days consisted of snow plowing, interior demolition, fencing and deck building. After graduating, Ken and Aidan decided to keep the company going despite having job offers to work in their fields of study. Growing from two employees to hundreds of employees, and our signature continues to be placed on a myriad of projects of different size and complexity.
Team Kenaidan lost a key player and leader when Ken Smith passed away in 1996. Ken’s name was underlined in our logo to commemorate his contribution as both an outstanding leader and cherished friend.
When Ken and Aidan founded the company the business philosophy was simple; work hard, operate with integrity, and have fun. This philosophy hasn’t changed over the years. Our team has a vast wealth of knowledge, experience, and a commitment to success which continues to drive us forward.
In 2011, Kenaidan joined the Obayashi global family of companies based in Tokyo, Japan. This strategic partnership allows Kenaidan to utilize Obayashi’s considerable experience, staffing resources, technology and financial strength to participate in a greater number of large-scale projects in Canada. Consistent with Obayashi’s relationship with its other subsidiaries, Kenaidan operates as an independent entity.
Today, our operations are managed by offices in Mississauga, Ontario and Richmond, British Columbia
