Lakeview Wastewater Treatment Plant - Contracts 8, 9 & 10

These contracts are part of a major expansion of the Lakeview Wastewater Treatment Plant in Mississauga, Ontario.

The work included construction of new Solids Receiving, Solids Handling, and Disinfection Buildings.  The new buildings are steel-framed with steel siding, translucent panels, masonry, and curtain wall envelopes.  The extensive mechanical and electrical works include the installation of new piping, dewatering centrifuges, pumps, silos, and disinfection equipment.
Thermal Oxidation Facility:  The work involved the construction of a new extension to the existing thermal oxidation (TOX) building and the installation of a new incinerator (TOX #4) unit.  The new extension is a 3-storey, steel-framed building with pre-cast concrete cladding, constructed on a 1,300m³ reinforced concrete substructure.  The new equipment installation included a heat exchanger unit and scrubber, as well as improvements and upgrades to existing process systems.
Kenaidan's work involves the demolition of existing fluid bed incinerators #1, #2, and #3; and installation of 3 new incinerators and related scrubbers, heat exchangers and other associated equipment.  The Lakeview WWTP has the largest incineration plant in the world.
