The Courtice WPCP is located in the Region of Durham, Ontario.  When fully operational the plant will be treating up to 15 million gallons of wastewater per day.  This large and complex project, built on a greenfield site, can be divided into 8 major components: Biosolids Management  Building, Energy Building, Administration Building, Head Works, Inlet Chamber, 2 Digesters and Control Building, Liquid Train, and the Chlorine Contact Tank.  The excavation work involved the extraction and redistribution of 542,000 m³ of soil.  The contract includes 100,000 m² of formwork and the placement of 35,000 m³ of concrete.

Courtice WPCP was awarded the PROJECT OF THE YEAR Award in Environment Category for Projects Greater than 10 Million Dollars by the Ontario Public Works Association OPWA.
