Barrie Surface Water Treatment Plant & Low Lift Pumping Station

This project was the construction of a new 60ml/day Surface Water Treatment Plant located on the north side of Big Bay Point Road, and a Low Lift Pumping Station located approximately 1.5km north on the south shore of Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie, Ontario. Construction included an admin building, parking garage, and pumping station. The primary treatment process is membrane filtration using GE Zenon ultra-filtration membranes. Other processes include: raw water strainers/dynamic mixers, mechanical flocculators/flocculation tanks, secondary membranes, high lift pumping station, backwash pumping, controls, SCADA & VESDA systems, and instrumentation.

Kenaidan self-performed the 71,000m² of formwork and placed 27,000m³ of concrete.
